Second Bid - Partner Supported Opening Suit
If partner supported the opening bid in a suit, they will have a fairly weak hand. Unless you hold a very strong hand your should look to make a bid that is likely to be the final contract. Apply losing trick count to determine the contract level of a suit contract.
In no trumps, if your partner's bid is an invitation to go higher ( 2NT, 4NT), only raise the level if you have a maximum hand, otherwise PASS.
With a balanced hand but points that are higher than the range for a no trump option, bid no trumps.
